Collect samples of things that are part of trees (such as seeds, pine cones, cotton fluff, leaves and needles). Make a large mural of trees in the different seasons. Use pictures of trees or draw trunks and branches and add leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, cotton fluff, or nuts, depending on the season. Add things like birds and bird nests in the spring and butterflies or bugs in the summer. Add squirrels and other animal life as you see it. What other things do the children think of to add to their seasonal mural? Be sure to include evergreen trees or palm trees, whichever is appropriate, in the mural and discuss how they look in each season.
